WEF Global Agenda Councils Gather in Dubai

World Economic Forum’s 5th Summit on the Global Agenda was held on 12-14 November 2012 in Dubai, in partnership with the Government of the United Arab Emirates. Eurasia House president, Dr Armen Sarkissian, took part in the Summit.  Nearly 1,000 invited participants from more than 80 countries participated in this foremost multistakeholder brainstorming on global critical issues.  Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE’s Minister of Economy, and Sami Dhaen Al Qamzi, Director-General, Department of Economic Development, served as the co-chair of the summit.

The objective of the Summit is to provide context, to “connect the dots”, and suggest key transformational ideas as part of action plans of council members. The Summit’s findings serve as the basis for recommendations to key decision-makers at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, which will be held in late January 2013. The Councils’ insights and recommendations are reflected in their work plans and special reports.
