Munich Security Conference

Eurasia House President, Dr Armen Sarkissian, took part in the annual Munich Security Conference, 2-5 February. The Munich Security Conference (MSC) is one of the world’s most important independent forum for exchange of views by decision-makers in the field of international security policy. Each year, it brings together senior figures from around the world to engage in an intensive debate on current and future security challenges.

A number of heads of states and officials addressed the conference this years, including, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister of Egypt Mohamed K. Amr, US Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton, Foreign Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu, Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali of Tunisia, Nobel Peace Laureate 2011 Tawakkul Karman, Presidnet Bronisław Komorowski of Poland, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey V. Lavrov, Prime Minister Mario Monti of Italy, US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd, President Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Zhang Zhijun, World Bank president Robert Zoellick, and others.
